Event Overview:

Since The Music King Mega Store has opened we have got talking with a few of the local bands and have decided to get involved in the music scene by putting on a 'showcase' night at The River Rooms (formerly The Rock Cafe 2000) in Stourbridge. We hope to promote the bands as much as we can as we either really like them or want to give them a helping hand (in most cases both!).

Our Aim

Our main aim is for bands to play monthly at our 'showcase' so people can hear them and interact to generate a following for the band as well as our monthly event. At the 'showcase' the bands and audience are encouraged to have a laugh and enjoy the music and as we hope to continue the 'showcase' for as long as there is bands to play it!

What's expected of the band and what's it in for them?

Each band (4 per night) can expect to play a half-hour set and the back line will be provided by The Music King. Bands will be expected to bring their own breakables i.e. hardware, snare, cymbals, guitars etc.

Each band will be given tickets to sell in advance of the event they are playing at, these will be £2 each (£3 on the door) and the band will keep 50% of the amount they sell for their efforts, they will also be encouraged to bring their CD's to sell/promote themselves.

On top of this, Music scouts and promoters will be invited to all events - something all bands can take advantage of and get bookings!

The band that sells the most tickets will also be the Headline band for that night.

All bands will be featured in advertising from The River Rooms and The Music King in newspapers, internet sites, Facebook fan pages, flyers, posters and The Music King store.

One thing that is expected is that ALL BANDS stay until the end to support their fellow musicians.
